46083 The following is an email from Julie Fors to Tom Nadsady on January 2, 2013.

On my way to Missouri (while in Oklahoma)he coded 5 times and they brought him back and each time he asked if I was there yet. I drove like a wild person trying to get there in time. When I got there he was non-responsive and I kind of lost it as he looked so much like my mother lying there that I did not stay longer than an hour. I was informed that he was in grave critical condition and that he would not survive through the weekend. They asked if I wanted to remove the Ventillator that he requested after the 5th espisode as he was waiting for me. I told them that I could not make that decision yet. They informed me that they had a copy of the medical power of attorney and they need my approval to do so, so I told them that I would come back after I went to the house and took a shower and got his dog out of the kennel.

I came back at 5 pm on Saturday and spent awhile with him and when I held his hand he squeased it, but the nurse told me that was just reflexes. I think otherwise! About 2 minutes til 6 pm we removed the ventillator and he was gone just like that. It was very hard, but I knew I had to do it.

My Mother's final wishes were for me to continue what she had always done. Weekly calls to him and sending cards at every holiday. I did it for 14 years along with many visits and do not regret any minute of it. On Sunday I sat in his bed and called him and let the answering machine pickup just to hear his voice and had told him off as he was not picking up.....LOL I guess I needed closure! At least they are all together again.......

Anyways, I will miss him as he was a huge part of my life and now I will only have my kids left. He was truly a wonderful guy and tons of fun!

Information from Delilah Folsom
Another version of Delilah's history is told by her Cloud descendants of Louisiana. They say she was born at Grand Encore, Louisiana. Her granddaughter, Delilah Cloud wrote the following history about 1935.
"David Fulsom came from Holland and married a Miss Darkus in Holland and came up Red River from New Orleans to Grande Core and Delilah was born there December 31, 1808. Two Indians told them of a trail that led to Hot Springs, Arkansas. They went there and built the first house and tried to get Deeds to the land but Government would not give deed so David and wife died there. They had five daughters and two boys. Mahalah married Kepler. Lottie married Burell Busset. Delilah married a man near Hot Springs (in other Cloud family data he was said to be a Mr. Campbell). She was Divorced then married Noah Cloud Sr. Stephen died near Campti of Swamp fever. Eb married Jennie Lee and moved to Houston, Texas. Lottie Busset had five children. Her daughter Lottie married a Dentist McCornie from Alabama."
In a letter from another of Delilah's granddaughters, Mary Izora "Manie" Cloud Stothard, written in 1938, she gives her version.
"The Folsoms...came from Holland. Greatgranpa Folsom died and his widow married a Davis. I don't know if she had any Davis children. She had two sisters, Mrs. Hughs, Mrs. Basset. Mrs. B. died and Grandma Cloud raised her son Noah Bassett. One brother was a captain on a steamboat, he took sick and fell overboard and was never found. Grandma was born at Grand Encore, Louisiana, so Mollie (her older sister) said."
