From a will citation for Nathan dated 1 Aug 1842, it lists Skiff as residing somewhere in Ohio. Charlotte, b Apr 22, 1800, d May 29, 1880 Old Family Letter "To Mr. Barichiah Bassett, Lowville, Lewis C Flori September the 8th, 1820 Dear children, I take up my pen to write you a few lines to let you know that we are all well, except myself. I have been very unwell for about four weeks, unable to do anything, got a little better, fell and hurt my shoulder very much. I hope these lines will find you and yours enjoying health and prosperity which is the greatest thing we can enjoy here below. I have not much news to write to you. Old Mrs. Hillman is dead - Edmond Hillman is dead. A number of other deaths I don't mention, your uncle Mervy is very low. We don't expect that he will continue long, the rest of the family is well. We have a very dry season, summer crops very light - do write me a line by Mr. Millard as I expect he will come back by the village, as I am anxious to here from you all, My love to you and family, and all the rest of your brothers and familys.
