Tuesday, January 31, 1888
Ira Bassett died on Wednesday last in the town of Charlestown, and
Thursday his aged wife followed him. She had a paralytic attack on Monday and
lingered only three days. She was in her 80th year, and her husband was one
year younger. There was a double funeral at Charleston Four Corners on Sunday.
Three sons and two daughters survive them. One of the sons is James Bassett of
Fultonville.
