Abner Bassett Dies After Long Illness
Abner Bassett, father of the late Edward Bassett, former commander of Silver Bow post of the American Legion, died at his home, 1204 West Silver street, Friday morning after a lingering illness. Mr. Bassett was born in San Francisco, 64 years ago, but had lived here for the past 28 years. He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Monterey, Cal. He is survived by a son, Roy Abner Bassett of Los Angeles; a brother, Charles Bassett of Butte, and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Ellis and Mrs. May Regan of San Francisco. The remains are at the Sherman & Reed chapel, from where the funeral will take place this afternoon at 1 o?clock, the Rev. C.F. Chapman officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in Mount Moriah cemetery.
