Joseph Bassett Dies
Was One of the Oldest French Residents in Port Huron
Joseph Bassett, aged 80 years, died at his home, 813 Johnstone Street.
Thursday night, afther an illness of nine months. He had resided in Port
Huron for a number of years, and was one of the city's oldest French residents.
He is survived by a widow, two daughters and four sons, Mrs. George Findly,
and Mrs. Joseph Allen of Detroit, and Joseph A., Edward Richard, Agnan James
and William Richard, all of this city. The funeral will be held from St. Joseph's church
Saturday morning at 8:30 o'clock, and the remains will be taken to Mt. Hope Cemetery for burial.
