George Bassett Of Milton Dead
George J. Bassett, 63, of 1102 Brook Road, Milton, a restaurant designer, died yesterday in the Newton Wellesley Hospital. Born in Thebes, Greece, he came to this country in 1912 and received an associate engineering degree from Wentworth Institute in 1917.
He was a Navy veteran of World War I and was associated with Boston Showcase Company since 1930. He was past president of the Athens Chapter, Order of Ahepa; a member of the planning board of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral and of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Rose (Nestieri); a son, John, Boston radio personality and two brothers, Angelo J. of Waban and Kostas J. of Athens, Greece.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Boston.
