Andy Wade Bassett
Manchester, Tennessee ? Mr. Andy Wade Bassett, age 78, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life Friday, January 19, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Mr. Bassett was born in Decherd, TN, to his late parents Andrew Bassett and Flora Lee Conn Bassett. He worked for the Coffee County Sherriff's Department for 18 years and worked 30 years as a volunteer. The police department was his passion. Mr. Bassett also retired from Carrier after 40 years and was a member of Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #382 F&AM for 50 years. He loved fishing, woodworking, and was also a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter Y. Mr. Bassett and his wife, Carolyn, attended Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Manchester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolee Boyd and sister, Tammie Morris.
Mr. Bassett is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Newby Bassett; son, Tony (Mary) Bassett; daughter, Shelia Marie (Mitch); brother, Allan Bassett; grandchildren, Karmen Buchanan (Ken), Noell Brown, Laura-lyn Moore (Preston), Jamie Crutchfield (Brooks), Reba Patterson; great grandchildren, KJ, Kayden, Hunter, Lakelyn, Mattalyn, Braxton, Elijah, Christopher, Ronan, Acelyn, Isabella, Brooks, Kenzlie, Caycen, Isbell, and Brycen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Central Funeral Home in Manchester, TN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel of Central Funeral Home with Bobby Shannon and Charlie Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mill Cemetery in Manchester, TN.
