Hilda S. Bass
Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Hilda Saunders Bass, 71, at 10 p.m. Monday at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas with burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Mrs. Saunders, a resident of Boutte, formerly of Opelousas, died Friday, November 27, 1998, at Oschner Hospital in New Orleans.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. today until the time of services on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today.
The Rev. David Broussard will conduct the services.
Survivors include: five sons, Robert M> Bass of Des Allemands, Larry Bass and David Bass, both of Routte, Rene Bass of Marrero, and Russell Bass of Boutte; two daughters, Hilda Jones of Independence and Denise Vinet of Luling; a brother, John Saunders of Opelousas; a sister, GLdadys Verrett of Opelousas; 14 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Walter Bass; her parents, John Henry Sanders and the former Oscalie Taylor; two sisters, Helen Credeur and Hazel Guillory; and one brother, Jimmy Saunders.
Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Homes of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
