Mr Ray McKinley Bass, 66, of Richmond, VA, and formerly of Clarksville, VA entere enternal rest Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Richmond, VA.
Mr. Bass was born in Mecklenburg County, VA May 30, 1954 to the late Freddie and Enolia Fields Bass. He was a 1972 graduate of Bluestone Senior High School, and a member of New Light Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Bass was a former aircraft mechanic, employed by Sikorsky Aircraft of Stratford, CT. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, football, especially the Redskins, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bass was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara, and three brothers, Percy Lee, Larry and Thomas Lewis.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories three daughters, Deitrich Tucker of Clinton, NC, Tiffany Bass of Jacksonville, FL and Nikita Smith of Clinton, NC; six grandchildren, Colin Dakwon, Ashanti Simone, Michael Seago, David Bass, Tenaj Small and Issyria Bass; two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Amori Tucker; one brother, Joe Bass of Dalton, GA; a brother in love, Wilfred Day of Clarksville, VA; four sisters, Mable Bass and Tracey Smith of Bridgeport, CT, Annette Durham (Michael) of Clarksville, VA and Clarice Davis of Skipwith, VA; a special friend, Renee Scott of Richmond, VA, a devoted niece, Chinetta Bass, and a vast number of other loving relatives and caring friends.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at New Light Baptist Church Cemetery, Skipwith, VA with Rev. Marvin Harris officiating. Public viewing will be held on Monday from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Due to Covid-19, a mask will be required for all viewings and services, and we ask that you practice social distancing.
