Bass, 73 years, 11 months, well known farmer of Catahoula Parish who died at his residence July 14 at 1:30 a.m., were held at the Lake Lilly Church July 15 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Burton A. Miley of Harrisonburg officiating. Interment took place at the Heard's Cemetery near Manifest under the direction of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena.Deceased was a member of the Lake Lilly Baptist Church. He was born in Catahoula Parish where he spent most of his lifetime.Surviving are Mrs. W. W. Bass, widow; Tom Albert, Bennie, Richard, Meloy [sic Maloy} Bass of Jonesville, sons; Mrs. J. T. Tannehill of Olla, Mrs. Blanch Richmond of Epps, Mrs. Quinnie [sic Queenie] Bass of Jonesville, Mrs. Connie McKaskle [sic Cannie McCaskill] of Jonesville; and E. E. Bass of Jonesville, brother, 41 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
