Mr. Matthew Carl Bass of 2008 Turner Street, Cordele, Georgia died Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at his residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is ask to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
The earthly journey of Matthew Carl Bass began on August 9, 1957 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. Carl was born to the late Deacon Matthew Bass and Mrs. Cinderella Ray Bass.
The journey continued as he was enrolled in the public schools of Crisp County. Carl was a 1975 graduate of the Crisp County High School.
As a child, he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Little Rock Baptist Church. He became an usher and was elected to serve as President. He was faithful to his duties.
For 42+ years, Carl was employed by Crisp Regional Health Services. He was a loyal and dedicated employee until his retirement.
On October 19, 1984, as the journey continued, he was united in Holy Matrimony to his loving wife, Leacia.
The earthly journey of Matthew Carl Bass came to a peaceful end on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. While we mourn his passing on this side, we rejoice that he is resting from the cares of this life.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Leacia Bass of Cordele, Georgia; his caring sister, Miss Melda Yzette Bass of Cordele, Georgia; his sister-in-law, Ms. Gwendolyn Young and her companion, Mr. Eddie Williams of Cordele, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Mr. Floyd McCormick, Mr. Wayne McCormick and his wife, Mrs. Bianca McCormick, and Mr. Michael Lane of Cordele, Georgia, and Mr. John Henry Young and his wife, Mrs. Junice Young of Ashburn, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Pastor Ethel Mae Brown, Mrs. Angeline Washington, and Mrs. Alene Smith of Vero Beach, Florida, Mrs. Josephine Crawford of Melbourne, Florida, Mrs. Mary E. Jackson and Mr. Eddie Pickens of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. Lucinda Ray of Arabi, Georgia, and Mrs. Emma Burney of Macon, Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Ms. Yzenetra Adams and her companion, Mr. Brandhon Colbert, Ms. Cinderella Bass, Mr. Mario Adams, Ms. Ashakia Bass, and Mr. Matthew Bass of Cordele, Georgia, Mrs. S?Deja Williams and her husband, Mr. Jakevien Williams Mr. Camden Williams and Mr. Cayden Williams of Norfolk, Virginia, Mrs. Sha?Bria Oliver and her husband, Mr. Gregory Oliver, Mr. Gabriel Oliver, and Mr. Josiah Oliver of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Mr. Charles Ray and Mr. Garfield Ray of Winter Haven, Florida, Deacon Ronnie Ray, Ms. Julia Brown, Mr. Spencer McKenzie, and Mr. Rick McKenzie of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Theodore Phinze of Vero Beach, Florida, Mrs. Beautie Mae Davis of Warner Robins, Georgia, Ms. Eloise Ray of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Sonny Crawford of Melbourne, Florida, Ms. Pat Crawford of Palm Bay, Florida, Mr. Robert Ray of Leesburg, Georgia, and Mr. Robert Harris of Columbia, Georgia.
