Beatrice (Yeates) Bassett (1923-2016) (Picture included)
Beatrice Bassett, age 92, of Clovis, NM passed away Thursday June 23, 2016, at Plains Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Muffley Funeral Home, 1430 Thornton. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Talus Murphy, Lyle Shober and Edith Mack officiating. Burial will follow at Plains Cemetery in Plains, NM.
Beatrice was born July 30, 1923, in Plains, NM to John Yeates and Josie Walker Yeates. She worked as a clerk at Holloman AFB for 27 years. Beatrice enjoyed sewing, gardening, crossword puzzles, and cooking. She loved to host special dinner parties, and had a lively relationship with her family and friends.
Survivors include: her two sons; Donovan S. (Josie) Bassett of Wagon Mound, NM, and Gary Dale Bassett of Clovis, NM, a sister; Madie Krizan of Clovis, NM, one grandchild; Shay (Melissa) Bassett of Las Vegas, NM, and one great-grandchild; Lacee Bassett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; John and Josie, first husband; Sanford Bassett, second husband; Jack Johnson, four sisters; Clara Yeates, Ida Pearl Yeates, Lucile Throgmorton, Hazel Hahn and a brother; Travis Yeates.
