Robert Thomas Bass (Picture included)

Robert Thomas Bass was born on January 8, 1933 to the late William and Alice Tyler Bass. Robert, formally known as Bob or Mershack (by his friends) and sport (by his wife) entered into eternal rest peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 87 with his loving family by his side. Bob was the last surviving son; having one brother Vernon.
Bob accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Sunday school on a regular basis in his younger years and because of his love for christain music, he later joined the youth choir.
Bob attended the Morris School District schools K-12. He was an excellent student who loved Math and Science. Bob was an avid sportsman. Bob graduated from Morristown High School in 1951 and pursued a degree in Engineering from West Virginia State, as well as completing simultaneously four years of Reserve Officers Training Corp. (ROTC). Upon completing the ROTC program, Bob graduated as a Second Lieutenant.
After completing college, Bob joined the Armed Forces and was deployed to Oakland California and later deployed to Korea where he earned his First Lieutenant status. After serving two years in the Armed Forces, Bob received an honorable discharge in July, 1958.
Shortly after returning to Morristown, Bob met his beautiful wife Eunice Montgomery of 60 years and from this union three children were born, twins, Robin and Robert Jr., and the youngest Douglas. Bob was a hard working father who worked two jobs to support his family. Bob?s full time job was with Howmet Austenel, Dover NJ., a maker of aircraft turbine engines and parts. Bob retired after 35 years of employment at the age of 59 to join his wife. Bob enjoyed his retirement by volunteering for the Kitchen ministry and Youth ministry, joking around with his kitchen buddies Mr. Bob Moore and Ms. Geri Blenchard.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife Eunice, three children Robin (Ryan), Robert and Douglas, two grandchildren, Bianca, Isabella, one niece, Vernee Bass Jennings and one nephew Scotty Bass.
