Alex Bassett, Sr. 75, passed away peacefully from this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at home in Houston, Tx.
Alex was born on September 16, 1945 in Galveston, Texas to the parents of Leola Pines, and Fairsee Williams, and adopted by his grandparents, Alex and Alzena Bassett.
Alex was a 1965 graduate of Central High School, during his high school years the BearCats won State Champion in 1963. Alex also served our Country in the United States Army. After serving our Country Alex worked at U.T.M.B. as a Dialysis Tech, and continued to further his career in Law Enforcement. Alex had a strong desire for fishing, cooking, music, and spending time with his family.
Alex is preceded in death by his son, Alex Bassett, Jr., his mother, Leola Pines, his father, Fairee Williams, his grandparents, Alex and Alzena Bassett, his brothers, Alfred Pines, and Elbe Bassett, Jr., , his sister, Brenda Pines, his uncles, Samuel Bassett, Elbe Basset, Sr., and Leon Bassett, a cousin Rose Wilson, and brother-in-law, Wilton Lazard.
Alex leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving devoted wife Marlena Bassett, his step-daughter, Merna, sister, Verda Pines, brother, Samuel Pine (Linda), 4-grandchildren, Courtney Davis (Rebecca), Alex, and Amber Allen (Quinten), and Andre. 4-great-grandchildren, Chase, Quinten, Jr., Maddison, and Penelope, and 3 step-grandchildren, Bianca, Diante, and Ashley. Brother-in-laws, Leon Tousant, Michael Tousant, Charles Twymon, and Robin Twymon, and a host of nieces, and nephews, and a host of numerous nieces, and nephews. A very dear and devoted friend, Cordella Brow.
