Katherine “Kit” (nee Bassett) Peaker
Peacefully at the Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Friday, October 10, 2003, Katherine (Kit) Peaker of Tillsonburg in her 88th year. Born in Essex, England, June 23, 1916, dear daughter of Alfred Bassett and the late former Nellie Hayter. Beloved wife of Harry Peaker. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Harry and Margaret Rose Peaker, marlene and Clifford Noels, R.R. #1 Straffordville. Proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Nancy Athony; Doris and Tom Escirtt; Steve Bassett and Richard Bassett, all of Essex, England. Predeceased by her daughter Valma Esseltine (1971); a grandson David Peaker (1989) and by a brother Alf Bassett and a sistger Margaret and an aunt Dorothy Knight (2003). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, Highway 19, Tillsonburg, Ontario, Saturday, October 18, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. by Mr. Robert Heald. Donations by cheque only to the charity of your choice can be made at the Verhoeve Funeral Home, 262 Broadway Street, Tillsonburg, (842-4238).
