      Local Wedding
      Bassett ? Crane

A pretty wedding of interest to South Wales, was solemnized at the Wesleyan Church, Poole, Dorset, on Wednesday in last week. The contracting parties were Mr. ?Dave? J. Bassett, of Barry (second son of Mr. and Mrs. David Basset, of Llanelly, and brother of Mr. Josh Bassett, of the ?Western Mail? literary staff) and Miss Gwendoline Crane, elder daughter of Councillor and Mrs. W.G. Crane, of Rokeby, Longfleet-road, Poole. The church was filled with relatives and friends. There were two bridesmaids in attendance upon the bride, fiz., Miss Jen Bassett, Llanelly, only sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Ettie Gray, of Poole, whilst the bridegroom had as his best man Mr. James J. Joslin, a scholastic colleague and friend from Barry. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride?s parent, who are well-known and highly respected citizens of Poole, where the bridegroom was once employed in the scholastic profession. The happy couple, who have been the recipients of a large and fine collection of presents, including gifts from the teachers at Barry and the post-office staff at Poole, left later in the day for Cheltenham. They propose settling down in Barry.
