She was born February 9, 1922 in Elizabethton, TN. daughter of the late James & Elizabeth Bass. She was a homemaker. Her memory will be cherished by her loving companion Earl; three daughters and one son, Betty, June, Phyllis and Joseph; five grandchildren, Harold, DeAndre, Sherika and her husband Eric, Lavelle and Frankie; four great-grandchildren, Jamarien, Shaiyana, Josiah and Shantae; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She had a lifetime of loving memories with family & friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her Hospice caregivers and Marva. Blessed are they that hear the word of God and keep it. A family hour will take place at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at the Evans-Smith Funeral Home, 508 S. Washington Ave. Elder Dempsey Allen will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
