Barry Bass
Mr. Barry Bass, 60, of Newnan, Ga., died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at Newnan Hospital.
He was born in Coweta County Jan. 31, 1943, son of William D. Bass Sr. and Zelma Johnson Bass. Mr. Bass was employed by the Coweta County Board of Education as a bus monitor. He was a member of Moreland Lodge and one of the founders of the Coweta County Fire Department when all members were volunteers.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Bass of Newnan; and one son, James and his wife Christina Bass of Newnan; five sisters, Nell Beavers of Newnan, Ethel Young of Newnan, Betty Miller of Newnan, Grace Calhoun of Newnan and Kathleen Hall of Newnan; brother, Horace Bass of Newnan; brother-in-law, John and his wife Gwen Coshnizke, also of Newnan; two grandchildren, Katie Moses and Lindsey Bass; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jerry Bass Jr., Kenneth Coshnitzke, Jimmy Hall, Joe Hall, Clay Hall and Ronnie Bass. Honorary pallbearers will be the Coweta County school bus drivers.
Arrangements are being handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, Ga. where the family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4. Funeral service will be at McKoon Funeral Home 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, Rev. Jimmy Lee, Rev. Joel Helton and Moose Kimbell officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, Ga.
