      Henry B. Bassett Passes Yesterday

      Following a serious illness of only a few days, Henry B. Bassett, retired employee of Golden?s Foundry and Machine Company, died yesterday at his home, 1601 Twelfth avenue.
      Although Mr. Bassett had been ill for a number of years his condition only became serious several days ago. He had made his home in Columbus for a number of years and was the husband of the late Eliza Manning Basset who preceded him in death on April 11 of this year. Mr. Basset was born in Dallis City, Ala., June 22, 1856, being the son of the late Joseph and Kate High Basset. He was a member of the East Highland Methodist church.
      Surviving Mr. Basset are one daughter, Mrs. W.B. Britton of Columbus; one son, Harry M. Basset of Columbus, five grandsons, Jack Starnes and George Starnes, of Columbus, and Clarence Starnes, of Birmingham, W. B. Brittian, Jr. U.S. Navy, and Robert Brittian, of Columbus; three granddaughters, Miss Penelope Brittian and Miss Francs Brittian, of Columbus, and Mrs. W.A. Scott, of Thomaston, Ga., and severl great grandchildren.
      Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two o?clock from the Striffler mortuary chapel with Rev. R.G. Shoarouse, pastor of the East Highlands Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Riverview cemetery.
      The following will serve as pallbearers: Charles Blau, Johm Mote, E.E. McLemore, Harry Kent, R.L. Lundy and J.P. Lubetkin.
