The Rev. Lorenzo Dow Bassett, Baptist minister, died Sunday, March 15th, 1942, at his home in Louin. Bro. Bassett was born May 22, 1861, and was approaching his 81st birthday....When the eldest brother died, he and his wife took four children of his brother and reared them. They were: Donie Boyd, Louin; J.C. Bassett, present sheriff of Jasper county; Arthur Bassett, deceased; Walter Bassett, Oak Grove, Louisiana.
