A funeral for Violet Mae Bass, 73, of Vacaville, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville. Burial will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Violet passed away Jan. 15, 2007, in Vallejo. She was born May 28, 1933, in Cold Lake, Canada, to William and Ada Foster.
First and foremost, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked at Travis Air Force Base in medical transcription until she retired. She attended Valley Church. Violet was an elegant woman. She was loving, kind and always there for family or friends. Her passing leaves a tremendous void but the family takes comfort in knowing that she lives on in the hearts of all those she has touched.
Violet leaves behind to cherish her, her beloved husband of 52 years, Weldon "Sam" Bass; sons, Weldon E. (Julie) Bass Jr. of Hanford, and Fred Bass of Fairfield; grandchildren, Allyse Lopez and Katelynn Cole of Vacaville and Justin and Jacob Bass of Union City; sisters, Nora Waters of Calgary, Eileen LaRue and Dolly (Don) Longacre of Kelowna; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family; and a host of dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Terry Bass.
