Alma R. Bassett
Alma R. Bassett, 69, of State College, formerly of Boalsburg, died at Boswell Memorial Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz., Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1987) at 4:10 p.m.
Mrs. Bassett taught ballroom and round dance lessons privately and for the Adult Education program and alter the Centre Region Parks and Recreation Department with her late husband, Jack, from 1965 through 1982, when she retired.
She was born April 29, 1917, in Lawrence, Mass., a daughter of Peter and Concelia Valletta Riggiero. On Sept. 26, 1936, she married John D. ?Jack? Bassett, who died March 15, 1982. On April 11, 1986, she married Ricahrd T. Byerly, who survives.
She is also survived by a son, Brian of Petersburg RD; four sisters, Rose R. Steele, Camile DeFusco, Julia DeCesare, all of Providence, R.I., and Mary Steele of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Angello Ruggiero of Hanover, Mass.
At her request a funeral service will not be held. Memorial contributions I nher name may be made to a favorite charity.
