Doris Ivery
Doris Ivery, age 81, a longtime Colorado Springs resident, passed away on June15, 2012 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Doris was born in Pryor, Colorado to the late Leslie and Myrtle Bassett. She is survived by her children, Linda Bassett, Christine Smith, James "Mackey" McNeal III and Cheryl Ivery; brothers and sisters, Clara McDonald, Ella Mae Bessick, Donald, Terry Lee and Timothy Bassett; grandsons, Daryl Boone, Edward Bassett, Thomas Ward and Olson Smith, Jr., as well as great-grandchildren, Shauntay, Isaah and Sabirah. She was looking forward to the birth of her fourth great-grandchild. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church where she served in many different capacities. She was an Air Force veteran prior to having a family and then enjoyed a career as a nurse. Her joys in life came from her family, her church family and playing Pogo on the computer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Just remember her smile! A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 South Hancock, Colorado Springs. Online condolences at www.evergreenfuneralhome.org.
