  Notes	The Providence Journal, Rhode Island, Wednesday, March 28, 1984 Francis E. Bassett Francis E. "Ted" Bassett, 86, of 43 East View St. died Monday in the Cranston General Hospital after a two-month illness. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth V. (Christiansen) Bassett. Born in Randall, England, a son of the late Frank and Ada (Wallington) Bassett, he lived most of his life in Warwick. He was a delivery and service man for the former Cary's Oil Service for 15 years before retiring in 1962. He previously was an agent for the Prudential Life Insurance Co., Providence, for 10 years. A Canadian Army veteran of World War I, Mr. Bassett served in France with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He received the Victorian Cross. Mr. Bassett was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Cranston. He is survived by a daughter, Lillian M. Bonneau of Warwick; a sister, Doris Church of Warwick, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral service will be private.
