  Notes	Providence Journal, Rhode Island, Wednesday, January 17, 2001 Marie Anne Bessette MARIE ANNE BESSETTE, 101, formerly of 38 Raynor St., Blackstone, Mass., a retired textile worker, died yesterday at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Milford, Mass., after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Josephat M. Bessette. Born March 25, 1899, in Ruson Falls, Canada, the daughter of the late Romuald and Alexina (Fregeau) Leroux, she was a longtime resident of Blackstone. She had also lived in Woonsocket. Mrs. Bessette was a spinner in local textile mills, retiring in 1961. Mrs. Bessette was a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, and was the first secretary of the Blackstone Senior Club. She is survived by three sons, Henry M. and Charles E. Bessette, both of Blackstone, and Maurice L. Bessette, of East Providence; two daughters, Rollande A. Smith of Blackstone and Pauline S. Rabideau of Harrisville; a sister, Marie Jeanne Towner of Central Falls; and 15 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren and 9 greatgreatgrandchildren. She was the sister of the late Blanche Brunnelle, Margaret Rivers, Gertrude Laramee and Leo, Arthur, and Diogenes Leroux, Florence Gadoury, and Yvonne Champagne. Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Linton Funeral Home, 189 Spring St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Theresa's Church, 630 Rathbun Street, Blackstone.
