  Notes	Lima Daily News, August 21, 1914 The funeral of Marquis Bassitt at Lafayette was attended by many relatives and friends from this township. Sixty years ago he was born on the Bassitt farm, now occupied by the Philo Bassitt family, and lived there until his marriage to Harriet Hedges, when he moved on a farm in Jackson township, where he has since resided. They were parents of eight children, four boys and four girls. One daughter died in infancy and another, Anna Bassitt Fisher died in April this year. The others are Mrs. Newton Anspach, Mrs. Cloyd Fisher and Mr. Wm. Bassitt, of Lafayette, and Alvan, Oscar and Oke are at home, with his wife, besides three brothers and two sisters. Phila and Nelson Bassitt, of Bath township; Samuel Bassitt, of Washington, D.C., Mrs. John Roeder, of Lima, and Mrs. George Flager of this township. Rev. Foltz conducted the funeral services at Lafayette Monday, Aug. 17, using for a consoling theme, Hebrew, 6th chapter, 19th verse.
