Rickey Del Bass
Lubbock - Ricky Del Bass, 57, of Mississippi, formerly Lubbock, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017. He was born September 23, 1959, in Roxton, Texas, to Lois, Jr. and Minnie Bass. He attended Lubbock ISD. He was in the United States Army for six years. After the Army he went to trade school where he mastered in carpentry, electrical engineering and diesel mechanic. He worked for Huntington-Ingalls Shipbuilding for more than 20 years. Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Lois Bass, Jr.; his sister, Norma Bass; his brother, Timothy Bass; and his grandparents, Lois Bass, Sr., Maggie Bass, and Dorothy Yates. Ricky leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Minnie Rhodes-Ray; five brothers, Totsey Bass (Shawnda), Anthony Bass, Jeffery Bass (Sharon), Thomas Bass (Cora), and Myron Alexander (Pamela); seven children, Shena Washington, Laquisha Bass, Phillip Johnson, Antionette Bass, Karima Bass, Taylor Bass, and Micah Price; seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at St. James Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Peaceful Garden Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
