Llanelly
Accident At The Railway Station
On Monday evening last, about 8 o?clock, James Bassett, of Llanelly, a joiner in the employ of the South Wales Railway Company, accidentally from the top of a ladder at Llanelly station. It appears that he was repairing the water tank, when his foot slipped, and he was precipitated headlong from a considerable height. He fell prostrate on the ground, and it was at first believed he had been killed; indeed, the report was circulated over the town and neighborhood in general that he was dead. He was carried into a house close at hand, and soon recovered his consciousness. With the assistance of a friend, he was enabled to walk home the same evening. With the exception of a few cuts on his knee, he escaped uninjured, and will be able to resume his duties in a few days.
