Gertie C. Robinson
Gertie C. Robinson, 89, passed away Friday, November 24, 2006. She was a member of Ward A.M.E. Church in Los Angeles, California. She accepted Christ at an early age. Gertie was united in Holy Matrimony to Earl Edward Robinson. She graduated from G.W. Carver High School in Navasota, Texas. Gertie graduated from Madame C.E. Coleman Beauty College of Cosmetology. She was a member of Alpha Phi Omega Beauty Sorority and the N.A.A.C.P. in Los Angeles, California. Gertie leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters, Ruby Bassett (Houston) of Atlanta, Texas, and Claudia DeBose of Beaumont, Texas; five nephews, Houston Bassett III and Ira Bassett of Dallas, Texas; Alfred C. DeBose, Jr. (Cassandra) of Houston, Texas, Rufus McWilliam II (Adrian) of Riverside, California and Reverend Norman Robinson (Pearl) of Arlington, Texas; three nieces, Carolyn McDowell and Sheryl Lewis of Beaumont, Texas and Terry McWilliams of Los Angeles, California; and many other cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2006 at Calvary Mortuary Chapel with burial at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Calvary Mortuary Staff.
