William T. Bass Dies in Columbia
William T. Bass, a retired textile worker, died early yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. L.E. Geiger, 2721 Devine Street.
Mr. Bass, who was born in Fairfield county, had lived most of his life here. He retired three years ago because of ill health.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Geiger; one son, Albert Bass; two grandsons, Bobby and Billy Geiger; two sisters, Mrs. E.F Nipper and Mrs. J.T. Morrison; two brothers, H.L. Bass and W.A. Bass.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Dunbar Funeral Home with the Reverend James G. Jennings officiating. Interment will be in the Longtown Cemetery, Longtown.
The active pallbearers will be his nephews, Leroy Williams, Raymond Nipper, Henry Bass, Ralph Bass, Heyward Bass and Tollie Bass.
Asked to be honorary pallbearers are: J.H. Cornwell, O.W. Weathers, H.P. Lovett, J.H. McNair, W.H. Joyner, J.E. Evans, Roy Gray, Monroe Sox, G.W. Martin and J.R. Nichols.
