Gale S. Bass
Gale S. Bass, 58, of Mount Dora, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Born in Hornell, N.Y., she moved to Lake County in 1958 from New York. Gale graduated from Tavares High School with the Class of 1967. She was chief of staff for Senator Carey L. Baker for eight years. Prior to that she worked with Representative Everett Kelly for 14 years. She is survived by her husband, Edward D. Bass of Mount Dora; son, Edward D. Bass, II of Apopka; daughter, Ginger G. Shivers of Tavares; two grandsons, Andrew Shivers and Matthew Shivers. Services will be held at Bay Street Baptist Church, Eustis on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares. The family will receive friends at the Church Annex Friday evening, May 23, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boggy Creek Gang Camp, 30500 Brantley Branch Road, Eustis, FL 32736.
