He was a member of the Christian Church of Morocco. On December 6, 1891, he was united in marriage to Lula Hilyer, who passed on in 1920. To this union was born seven children, Bessie dying in infancy. Surviving are children, Mrs. Lena Lane, Mrs. Gladys Laffoon, and Mrs. Elsie Dangerfield of Brook, Mrs. Lois Regen of Newport, Michigan, Mrs. Wilma Brunton of Illinois, and M. Sgt. Lorin Bassett of Seymour, a stepson, Alex Harris Chicago, twenty four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
