Susie Sharpe Bass (Picture included)
COLUMBIA ? The funeral service for Susie Sharpe Bass, 95, of Columbia, will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 12 o?clock noon, at Shives Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 5202 Colonial Drive, Columbia, with the Reverend Dr. Charles Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens, Columbia. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 1062 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, SC 29078.
Susie Sharpe Bass, widow of Woodrow Bass, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, August 21, 2010. Born August 06, 1915, Mrs. Bass was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Mary Alice Miles Sharpe. Mrs. Bass attended Blythewood Church of God of Blythwood.
Surviving are daughters, Gwen (Larry) Ross and Joan DuBose of Columbia, sons Kenneth (Pamela) Bass of Blythewood and Robbie Bass of Irmo, step-mother, Sarah Sharpe of Columbia, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, sisters, Sally Jacobs of Chapin, Mary (Fritz) Williams and Margaret Sharpe of Swansea, Francis Scott and Cheryl (Glenn) Sherman of Columbia, and brother, Rev. Dr. Jack (Meredith) Sharpe of Lakeland, Florida.
Mrs. Bass was predeceased by a son, Clifton Bass, brothers, Carlyle Sharpe and Arthur Sharpe, and sisters, Pearl Nates and Ruth Kind.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Fairfield Health Care Center for the care given during the last fourteen years.
