A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Robert "Bob" Adams officiating. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bass. Survivors include a daughter, Kellie Victoria Bass of Narrows; a son, Shannon Michael Bass of Crockett; mother, Edna Waddell Bass of Wytheville; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Perry Fierson of Florence, S.C.; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Gale Bass of Max Meadows, Guy and Phyllis Bass of Fredericksburg, David and Kim Bass of Rural Retreat, and Mark and Brande Bass of Wytheville; a granddaughter, Reagan Bass; and several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Grubb Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
