Lala Jean Bassett

Lala Jean Bassett, aged 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with her Heavenly Father on June 17, 2025. Lala was born on August 5, 1944, to Russell and Jean Shelton in Texarkana, Arkansas. Lala enjoyed antiquing, quilting, taking vacations and crocheting. Lala will be missed by many friends and family.
Preceding Lala in death was her parents, Russell and Jean Shelton; brothers, Fred Shelton and James Shelton; and the father of her children, Jerry Maurice Bassett.
Lala is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Brad) Bearden of Genoa, Arkansas and Erica Chapman of Texarkana, Arkansas; sister, Deanna Sewell of Texarkana, Arkansas; grandchildren, Ashley, Colton, Cameryn and Blake; great grandchildren, Gavin, Callan, Cash and Bray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Mr. Bill Paxton officiating, at A O Smith Funeral Chapel, Stamps, Arkansas. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment to follow as a private service.
Services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
