Betty Jill Bass

Mrs. Betty Jill Bass, age 81, of Panama City, FL, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, in Panama City, FL.
Jill was born on September 24, 1938 in Crestview, FL, to Henry Clayton Howell and Addie Pearl (Roberts) Howell. Mrs. Bass had lived in Panama City, FL for most of her life. Jill devoted her life to her family and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also cared for each of them during their times of sickness and need. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Children's Church and VBS for over forty years. She loved to sew, raise her garden and flowers. She helped provide lap blankets for the residents of Sims Nursing Home, provide for children in need by making sandwiches for the children at The Baptist Center and participating in numerous fish fry events for someone in need.
She is survived by: one son, George Bass and wife Denise, of Lynn Haven, FL; two daughters, Pamela Pippin and husband Roger, of Ft. White, FL, and Tammy Kelly and husband Chuck, of Panama City, FL; one brother, Danny Howell and wife Kerry of Youngstown, FL; one sister, Joan Mowry of Keystone Heights, FL; 6 grandchildren: Heather Zabriskie, Julia Bond, Aaron Davis, Jessica Rogers, Justin Hoffmann, and George Bass II; three great-grandchildren: Sabrina Bond, Kaden Rogers, and Karder Rogers.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 10:00 AM (CDT) at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Panama City, FL with Reverend Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, the family request family members only at the Church for everyone's safety. In lieu of flowers contribution may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 401 East 23rd Street Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
