- Obituary for Wylie Ambrose Bass, Sr.
Carlisle, South Carolina:
Mr. Wylie Ambrose Bass, Sr., 88, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester, South Carolina. The funeral service will be Monday, 5:00 p.m. March 14, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend David Sealy officiating and Pastor Charline Lanier. The interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Barron Funeral Home.
Born June 25, 1927 in Chester County, South Carolina, Mr. Bass was a son of the late John Joe Bass and Carrie Lou Feaster Bass. He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Milliken Mills in Lockhart, South Carolina. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Germany during World War II. Mr. Bass was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and artwork.
He is survived by four daughters, Barbara Ann B. Maloney of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Sarah B. Walker of Union, South Carolina, Carol B. Causey (Tim) of Carlisle, South Carolina and Susie B. Thompson of Chester; one son, Wylie A. Bass, Jr. (Rose) of York, South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one sister, Sara Sistruck of Carlise, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews.
