  Notes	The Grenfell Record and Lachlan District Advertiser, New South Wales, Australia Thursday, 6 January 1944 Mr. George Bassett After eight months of serious illness caused by a heart disease, Mr. George Morris Bassett, well known retired railway guard on the Cowra-Grenfell line, passed away in the Cowra District Hospital. Mr. Bassett, who was 64 years of age, was for many years guard on the Cowra-Grenfell train, and was one of the most popular officers known around these parts. He was presented with the Imperial Service Medal by his Excellency the Governor on his retirement from the Railway Department about 18 months ago.
