Anthony Joseph Bessette
Our beloved son and brother, Anthony, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 24, 2008 in Loleta, just three weeks after his 18th birthday.
Anthony was born May 3, 1990 and raised in McKinleyville and Eureka, attending Lafayette Elementary, Winship Junior High, and Eureka High School. He received his GED in 2007. While in school Anthony was a member of the Sacred Heart Youth Group, Future Christian Athletes, EHS Relay for Life, and FFA.
Growing up Anthony loved working with his Dad raising cattle and bucking hay, along with family trips to Ruth Lake for camping, fishing, and water skiing.
He looked forward to Mt. Bachelor snowboarding trips where he was a daredevil on the slopes, and to the annual AB Dive gathering in Fort Bragg, spending time at the beach with friends and family.
Anthony had a natural ability in working with computers. He excelled in computer applications, hosted a Web site, and started an online business. Many know him as “Antwan Fisher.” Anthony’s computer expertise enabled him to repair computers, and he was always eager to help friends and family with technical problems.
He shared an interest in cars with his friends. His favorite food was McDonald’s, where he and his friends met daily to eat burgers and drink Hugo’s. Everybody loved him and his enthusiasm - kids, parents, and teachers. We will all treasure the memory of his warm smile and easy going attitude.
He is survived by his parents Sally Ludtke Regli and Rick Bessette; his brothers Matthew and Tyler Bessette, and sister Sarah-Jean Regli, stepfather Mike Regli, stepmother Roxanne Bessette, and stepbrothers Taylor, Chad and Lance Montilepre.
He is survived by his grandmother, Janet Bessette.
