Dannie Merita Bass Sanders, 88, resident of 306 Grove Street, widow of James H. Sanders, died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Jacksonville, FL, January 19, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Gladys Smith Bass. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker and was a Charter Member of Calvary Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Robert (Brenda) Lightsey of Jacksonville, FL, Larry Lightsey of Hepzibah, GA, Jimmy Sanders of Greenwood, Ruth Sanders (Wesley) Willimon of Bradley, Sue Sanders (Frank) Horne of Greenwood and Tracy (Bob) Davis of Easley; grandchildren, Robert Lightsey, Renae Stewart, Tiffany, Daniell, Holly and Jamie Lightsey, Wesley Willimon, II and James Wllimon, Jamie Davis, Leeann Lawson, Nicole Pavlicek, Cheri Weeks, Amber Self and Chris Sanders; and a number of great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Kevin Hembree and Rev. Joe Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 Tuesday afternoon.
