- Alfred S. Bassett obtained his preliminary education at Groton High School and he then taught two years each at Altmar and Savona, New York, when he entered the State College at Albany, New York. After teaching two years each at Interlaken and Red Creek, New York, he entered Syracuse University and graduated from there in 1913. He then taught five years each at Schoharie High and Excelsior High in Schenectady, New York. He was also Superindentent of Schools in Walden, New York.

Marriage of Mr. Alfred Bassette and Miss Edith Flagg
Interlaken - September 4 - Alfred Bassette was united in marriage to Miss Edith Flagg at the home of the bride at an early hour yesterday morning. After a brief honeymoon they will return and Mr. Bassette will take up his work as principal of the Interlaken High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bassette and Mr. and Mrs. John Bassette were in attendance at the wedding of Alfred S. Bassette and Miss Edith Flagg at the home of the bride at Interlaken at 8:30 o'clock this morning. Mr. Bassette will be the principal of the Interlaken school the coming year.
