James Warren Bass, 53, died today at St. Albans Hospital in Radford, Va., after an illness of one week. He was a native of Surry County. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Virginia Barrier Bass; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Louise Hause, Winston-Salem; a son, James M. of Kernersville; three sisters, Mrs. N.B Jones and Mrs. Jessie B. Wilmoth, both of Winston-Salem; and Mrs. L. C. Underwood, High Point; five brothers, Gorrell N., Max, J. Dalon, H. Glenn, all of Winston-Salem; and William of the U.S. Army at Ft. Bragg; and two grandchildren. Funeral services willb e Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church here. The body will be taken to the church at 2 p.m. Burial will bein Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
