      Timothy Allen Bassett
      October 22, 1952 ? August 30, 2026

Timothy Allen Bassett was born on October 22, 1952, in Walsenburg, Colorado, to Leslie Robert Bassett and Myrtle Alice Henderson. On August 30, 2026, Timothy passed away in his hometown of Colorado Springs.
Timothy lived a life marked by humility, love, laughter, family, friendship, and perseverance.
A proud veteran, Timothy honorably served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1978. His military service was an important part of his life and reflected the dedication and strength he carried with him throughout the years.
For 43 years, Timothy shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Lynette Bassett. Together, they built a family and a life filled with memories, laughter, challenges, and love. Their union was blessed with two children, LaPassion Marshall and Marcus Reynolds, who brought him tremendous pride and joy.
Timothy was a humble and easygoing man who possessed a great sense of humor. He was the kind of person who could make people laugh without trying too hard. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed working on cars?even though he would be the first to admit that he wasn?t a mechanic! For Timothy, it was about the enjoyment of working with his hands, figuring things out, and simply doing what he loved.
Family was always close to Timothy?s heart. He especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving father who taught his children many lessons as they grew up and always made sure to look out for his children and grandchildren.
Timothy?s love reached beyond his immediate family. He developed ??meaningful relationships with many of his grandsons? friends through the football and basketball games he always attended. They affectionately called him ?Pops? rather than Grandpa, a name that reflected the special bond he shared with them.
One of Timothy?s favorite ways of connecting with family was through storytelling. He would often tell stories about growing up, sharing memories from his younger years and the times he spent with his best friend. Those stories became treasured pieces of family history and gave his loved ones an opportunity to know not only the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather they loved, but also the young man he once was.
In his later years, Timothy faced a series of significant health challenges, including prostate cancer, heart disease, and ultimately ALS. The final years were not easy, but Timothy continued to demonstrate the positive spirit that had always been a part of him. Even when he wasn?t feeling his best, he tried to remain positive and continued to face each day with courage and perseverance.
Timothy?s life was never defined by his illnesses. It was defined by the people he loved, the friendships he made, the stories he shared, the lessons he taught, and the laughter he brought into the lives of others.
Timothy is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Myrtle Bassett, and 11 siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Lynette Bassett; children, LaPassion Marshall and Marcus Reynolds; his sister Ella Bessick; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family; longtime friends; and the many young people who lovingly called him ?Pops.?
Though Timothy is no longer physically present, his memory will live on in the stories his family tells, the lessons he passed down, the laughter he shared, and the generations that carry his love forward.
A loving husband. A devoted father. A proud grandfather and great-grandfather. A faithful friend. A cherished ?Pops.? A life that will never be forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Timothy Allen Bassett. Your work here is done, but your legacy lives on.
