"Buddy" Bass, 73, of Halifax Avenue, one of the former owners of Bass and Swaggerty, Holly Hill, a food distributor, for many years, died Monday at Hospice Care Center, Port Orange. Mr. Bass, an Army veteran, was born in Sanford, Fla., and was a lifelong Central Florida resident. He enjoyed playing tennis, fishing in the Bahamas and eating lobster. Survivors include his wife of 4 years, Connie; two sons, Michael and Bobby, both of Port Orange; two brothers, Richard and Gene, both of Ormond Beach; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129. Lohman Daytona is in charge.
