  Notes	Durham Morning Herald North Carolina Saturday, May 9, 1987 David Bass David Bass, 73, of 7031 Chanticleer Drive died Monday in Durham County General Hospital after a brief illness. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Union Chapel Baptist Church in Butner by the Reverend Harold Trice. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bass is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Esther Garland, Ms. Kate Bass, Mrs. Edith Garland, Ms. Kate Bass, Mrs. Edith Cameron, Ms. Loretha Bass and Ms. Helen Bass, all of Durham; a son, John Bass of Durham; a sister, Mrs. Susie Hemphill of Raleigh; five brothers, Roosevelt Bass, Victor Bass, Eddie Bass and Charlite Bass, all of Raleigh, and James Bass of Durham; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Jones-Hester Funeral Home in Chapel Hill.
