John N. Bass
Laurens - January 5 - John N. Bass, 54, local barber, died today at a Columbia hospital after several months declining health. A native of Laurens county, he was the son of the late M.A. and Elizabeth Tumblin Bass, and member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Henderson Bass; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest Tollison; a son of a former marriage, J.D. Bass; four sisters, Mrs. J.W. Word, Mrs. Allie Owings, Mrs. Ida Bridwell and Mrs. Carrie Wilkins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Mnoday at the Kennedy mortuary, conducted by the Reverend Jodie A. Martin. Interment will follow in the Laurens cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Judson and Sidney Lee, Cecil Mills, Dex Nelson, Paul Hope and Cecil Walker.
