Mrs. F.G. Bass Dies Suddenly Saturday
Mrs. Bass Fatally Stricken Saturday Morning at Home
of Her Daughter Mrs. Joseph Reid, Jr.

Mrs. F.G Bass died quite suddenly at the home of her daughters, Mrs. Joseph Reid, Jr., at Huntly Saturday morning about 6:30 of apoplexy.
Mrs. Bass before her marriage was Miss Laura Virginia Cooper, daughter of the late Henry Cooper of Linden and a native of Warren County.
Mr. Bass is from White River Junction, Vermont, but came to this section a number of years ago, and about forty-five years ago married and located there. Hence they have spent all of their married life here and are of the older citizens of our town.
Mrs. Bass has been a member of the Front Royal Methodist Church for a number of years, and was a most lovable Christian woman. She was not a woman to flaunt her good qualities, but did it with that simple genuineness of soul and heart which means all the more from its sincerity and gentleness.
Besides her husband she is survived by seven children, four daughters and three sons, three sisters and two brothers. The daughters are Mrs. Joseph Reid, Jr. of Huntley, Mrs. Willi Marlowe of Browntown, Miss Eliza Bass, who is connected with the Front Royal National Bank, and Miss Laura Virginia Bass, who taught at Browntown last session; sons, Chester, and Charlie of Front Royal and Foster of Washington, D.C. Her three sisters are Mrs. Julie Maddox, Mrs. Hobart Bass of Front Royal and Riverton and Mrs. James Pritchard of Linden, and brothers, Norman Cooper of Strasburg and John Cooper of Texas.
The funeral was held from the home Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. and the services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. N.B. Harmon, Jr.
The pallbearers were Messrs. Hugh Miller, Charles Burner, Lloyd Willey, B.Y. Atwood, Humbert Dilger and High Naylor.
The interment was made in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Dalton, Messrs. Clarnece K. Bass, W.S. Phillips, Clarence Phillips, all of Washington, D.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Coper of Strasburg.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to this bereaved family in this hour of great sorrow.
