Phyllis C. (Bessette) Rancourt
Phyllis C. (Bessette) Rancourt, 77 - Phyllis C. (Bessette) Rancourt, 77, of Lucy Drive, Liberty Estates, South Attleboro; formerly of Towne Street, North Attleboro; died on Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Madonna Manor Nursing Home in North Attleboro, where she had been a resident since May 5. She was the loving wife of the late Leon J. Rancourt, to whom she was married on Feb. 6, 1951, and who entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2001.
ATTLEBORO
Born in Pawtucket on Dec. 5, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Fernande (Audette) Bessette. She was raised and educated in North Attleboro.
Prior to moving to South Attleboro in 1999, she lived on Towne Street in Attleboro Falls from 1959 to 1999 and was a longtime North Attleboro resident.
Mrs. Rancourt was employed by the former New England Telephone Company and the Codex Corporation in Mansfield before her retirement. She was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her family and will be lovingly remembered as a great wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Rancourt was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church in the Attleboro Falls neighborhood of North Attleboro.
A lifelong lover of music, she was a past member of the Harmonettes of Harmony, a women's four-part harmony group, with whom she won first-place awards and recognition at competitions held in the United States and Canada.
Mrs. Rancourt enjoyed the time spent decorating and then redecorating her home, gardening, sewing and various crafts.
She leaves three sons: Leon G. Rancourt of Plainville, Gary R. Rancourt of South Attleboro and Philip L. Rancourt of Attleboro Falls; three daughters: Linda L. Ganci of Attleboro Falls, Gail M. Johnstone of Attleboro and Rochelle A. Mach of Attleboro; 11 loving grandchildren; one cherished great-granddaughter; a sister, Janice Falzone of North Attleboro; and several nieces and nephews, extended family members and close friends.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Monday, June 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, three-quarters-of-a-mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to the funeral service on Tuesday, June 24 at 8:45 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, three-quarters-of-a-mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley St. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, turn right onto Stanley Street in half-mile, and travel to end of Stanley Street), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro.
Flowers are accepted or memorial donations in her name and honor may be made to the Community VNA Hospice Care, 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
