Tom E. Ramsey
Tom Ramsey passed away peacefully on June 11, 2023, at the age of 98. Born on July 26 th , 1924, in Hardy, Arkansas, to Eura and Nina (Burns) Ramsey, he was the second of five surviving children. Both he and his twin brother Bill served with distinction in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, survived being shot down and endured captivity as POWs. Tom married Claris (Joni) Bassett on June 20th, 1948. In 1953, he and Joni moved their family to Northern California, where he began a career in the California Dept. of Fish and Game. This ultimately led to them settling in Red Bluff, where Tom finished his career as Game Manager of Tehama County. Active in the Red Bluff Elks Lodge, Tom moved through the chairs and served a term as Exalted Ruler.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joni, and is survived by his brother Roy Ramsey, three sons, Jim, George, and Gary, seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
