NEWARK - Nancy Jane Blankenberg, 74, entered eternal rest peacefully in her sleep on Sunday (April 24, 2016) at DeMay Living Center.
According to Nancy's wishes, there will be no services. The family will have a celebration of her life at a later date.
In memory of Nancy, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to DeMay Living Center, 100 Sunset Dr., Newark, NY 14513 in acknowledgment of the loving care they provided for her.
Nancy was born the daughter of the late John and Geraldine (Orbaker) Blankenberg on Wednesday, June 4, 1941, in Newark, N.Y. She graduated from Phelps High School class of 1959. Nancy retired from Fold Pak where she worked 28 years. She loved to garden, was an amazing cook, loved to knit and crochet. But, her biggest joy was her family. Nancy was a devoted and selfless mother and nana. With a huge heart and an awesome sense of humor. She was loved beyond words and will be missed sorely by all that had the pleasure of having known her.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Michelle Bassett Garrett; granddaughters Ashley Luna and Samantha (Tim) Austin; great-grandson Joshua Arnold; siblings Donna (Herman) Lunser, Judy Blankenberg, John Blankenberg and James (Toni) Blankenberg; many nieces and nephews.
Nancy was predeceased by her son Michael Bassett.
